🚀 Market Trends this Week
Job Market: Optimistic or Not?
The economic outlook on in the job market has been fluctuating between optimism and pessimism due to fears of a major recession and high inflation. Roughly a year ago, business leaders and economists started sounding the alarm and bracing for a significant recession.
Although the most severe anxieties have not come to pass, largely due to an unanticipatedly robust labor market and consumer expenditure, the root cause of those fears from a year ago - high inflation - remains unresolved.
Key Trends to Watch with June’s Job Report
Slower job growth is expected, though it is likely to remain above the 200,000 monthly benchmark.
The unemployment rate is expected to increase for a second consecutive month, likely to 3.9 percent.
Wage growth is expected to slow to 4.2 percent, which is still high by historic standards.
