🕸️ Decentralize Your Career in Web3

When most of think of Web3, we tend to associate it with Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, Silk Road, scams, and shady inter-continental arms deals. And you wouldn’t be wrong, but you also wouldn’t be even close to fully right.

The high level goal of Web3 is to create a more open, secure, and user-controlled internet. In our current state (Web2), the internet is centrally controlled by a small number of tech giants that own all the user data and monetize that information. Through decentralization, Web3 lets users own and monetize their own data using blockchain technology (you may or may not return from this rabbit hole).

The earliest code written that leveraged blockchain technology was by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2007 when the first version of Bitcoin was created. 17 years later, the legal focus is still on cryptocurrencies because every major financial institution will either make or break themselves when this technology is more mainstream.

Why should I work in Web3?

At this point, I think we’re all 🖕 to the man. Right now, Web3 is Rocky in the 14th round on the ropes fighting for the rights of the average person who can’t effectively speak out against the unfair distribution of wealth.
