🎁 Offboard Wrapped 2024

Our favorite tools and posts from last year

👋 Welcome, Jobseekers

We’ve finally made it to the end of 2024, which felt suspiciously like living through an extended episode of Silicon Valley (or maybe it was actual Aliens in Silicon Valley the entire time?). Either way, you stuck with me—and for that, I thank you. To celebrate, here’s a delightfully questionable recap of the year. Let’s call it “Wrapped” because lawyers told me “recap-a-roonie” might get me sued.

We’re wrapping up the year with a real moral conundrum:

In the heart of San Francisco, a chilling discovery was made on November 26, 2024: Suchir Balaji, a former OpenAI employee turned whistleblower, was found dead in his apartment. Balaji had been vocal about his concerns, alleging that OpenAI had breached U.S. copyright laws during the development of ChatGPT and GPT-4, where he'd played a significant role in data collection.

The official cause of death was ruled a suicide, with the medical examiner finding no signs of foul play. However, the story doesn't end there. Balaji's family, skeptical of the circumstances, sought a more thorough investigation, questioning the narrative of a man who had just exposed corporate wrongdoing. As the tech community buzzes with speculation, the truth behind Balaji's death remains a haunting question mark in the annals of Silicon Valley's darker tales.
